StaffSavvy Product Update January 2025

Our latest product update is now live for all users. The focus has been on improvements and enhancements for existing features, including Holidays, Absences, Shifts, Availability and Recruitment.

Updates to Availability and Shifts

There are many improvements to Shift Week, including a sharable view for all staff to easily see upcoming schedules.

Managers organising the shifts can now get more detail on staff availability and let them select 'Unavailable' and 'Prefer not to work'. When you are stuck for staff, you can differentiate between who can't work and those who would prefer those days off. The days they'd prefer not to work will appear as blue on their weekly preferences.

We have made adjustments to the way staff choose their shifts to make it a more seamless experience. The Update Guide provides a full list of these changes.

Improvements to Recruitment

Now, when you offer a successful applicant the job, the system can automatically assign that person to a job in the system if you want, and you can assign them to a squad at the same time. 

Updates to Absences

To make reporting staff absences easier we have added an option in the Absence menu at the top of a staff member's profile page. Look for 'Report Unplanned Absence' in the dropdown. 

We have implemented many automatic recalculations for absences when certain system changes are made, such as changing contract settings, staff contract history, and absence policies. This should remove many legacy issues with absences.

You now have the ability to set a day as exempt from deductions, and the system will not override this later.

And lastly, the system now allows multiple absence types per day.

Changes to Holidays

To provide a better overview of holiday entitlements for staff you now have the option to merge yearly entitlements.

New Feature - Pay Scales

You can now set different pay scales and define codes or point values for each range of salary or hourly rates. This new feature is available in Pay Settings, but first, make sure it is enabled in the Features section of your Global Settings.
